ASU Baltija is proud to announce the successful finalization of a contract with Airbus Helicopters for the acquisition of two H125 helicopters, unveiled at the European Rotors 2023 event in Madrid on November 28, 2023. This landmark agreement signifies the first sale of Airbus helicopters to a commercial operator in Lithuania and marks the inaugural deployment of the H125 type family in the country.
The procurement of these H125 helicopters represents a transformative chapter in ASU Baltija’s history, allowing us to strategically transition away from reliance on Russian-manufactured aircraft. These advanced helicopters will be leased to a private client and will include a full spectrum of operational support: a trained crew, a dedicated maintenance team, and integrated logistical solutions to ensure optimal performance and readiness.
ASU Baltija has cultivated a strong and enduring partnership with Airbus Helicopters, having previously provided logistics and maintenance support for the Lithuanian Air Force’s AS365N3+ fleet. This deep-rooted collaboration enhances our capability to effectively integrate the H125 into our operations.
The H125 helicopter is perfectly suited to meet the requirements of our expanding commercial activities. "With its versatility and proven performance, the H125 will significantly enhance our operational capabilities," stated Linas Elijosius, CEO of ASU Baltija.
"Even though the H125 is the best-selling helicopter in its class, welcoming a new customer is always a moment of pride," emphasized Thomas Zeman, Head of Sales Eastern Europe, and CIS at Airbus Helicopters. "We are excited to have completed our first sale to a commercial operator in Lithuania and anticipate that the H125's exceptional performance will lead to further opportunities."
Globally, nearly 4,200 H125 family helicopters are currently in operation, demonstrating their reliability in the most demanding conditions. The H125 is recognized as the market leader in the intermediate single-engine helicopter category, commanding an impressive 63% market share as of 2022. That year, the aircraft set a sales record with 161 orders, reflecting its popularity and performance in the aviation industry.
ASU Baltija is committed to enhancing our service offerings in the aviation sector, and this partnership with Airbus Helicopters is a significant step toward achieving our strategic goals. The introduction of the H125 into our fleet not only bolsters our operational capabilities but also positions us as a key player in the evolving landscape of commercial aviation in Lithuania.
